Al-Shabab Claims Responsibility For Suicide Car Bombing In Somalia


(Reuters) – Somali insurgents linked to al Qaeda claimed responsibility for a car bombing on 18/01. The AFP news agency reported that four people had been killed in the attack and at least 15 people wounded in Afgoye, northwest of the capital Mogadishu, including Turkish contractors as well as Somali nationals.

Al Shabaab, which frequently carries out bombings to try to undermine Somalia’s central government, which is backed by the United Nations and African Union peacekeeping troops, claimed responsibility for the attack.
