WASHINGTON KURDISH INSTITUTE – ISIS chemically attacked Kurdish Peshmerga forces in northern Iraq last month in Makhmour and Sultan Abdullah Heights near Mosul. According to U.S. and Kurdish officials, ISIS used mustard gas against the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and believe that they are in possession of these chemical weapons. The most puzzling question for U.S. investigators and others is where these chemical weapons came from and whether ISIS is making their own chlorine and mustard-filled artillery in order to conduct these chemical attacks on the Peshmerga.
