More than 100 people needed urgent medical attention after a potentially deadly chemical incident saw sulphuric acid spew from a container creating a lethal acid cloud. A chemical plant in Oberhausen, the Ruhr region of Germany, has triggered a public health crisis after a 600 cubic metre container containing the caustic substance ruptured.

Some 150 people were treated for breathing difficulties following the acid leak. Nearby homes and businesses have been warned to keep their doors and windows shut as a noxious acid cloud was created after the spillage. Continue reading.
