channelnewsasia.com – More buildings are now part of the national Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG), led by the Singapore Police Force (SPF), to counter terror attacks.

Over 1,000 buildings are members of the watch group, an increase of almost 20 per cent from last year’s figure. Led by SPF, and in collaboration with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Monday’s anti-terror attack exercise saw the participation of some 6,300 office workers from the security watch group.

Codenamed “Exercise Heartbeat”, it simulated mock terror attacks including a vehicle explosion at Plaza Singapura, a shooting rampage at Biopolis, and a suicide bomber attack at the Central Business District.
