In only one week the Non-Conventional Threat (NCT) eXplosive Europe conference will take place from 22-24 of September in Belgrade, Serbia. NCT eXplosive Europe 2015 will be this year’s networking forum in the fields of C-IED and EOD in Europe with a specific focus on the Balkan region.
The three-day conference is organized in official cooperation with the Serbian Mine Action Center (SMAC) and will welcome all Serbian stakeholders dealing with explosive threats – from the Special Antiterrorist Unit to representatives of the MoD and MoI.
The event will start with a live EOD exercise and demonstration at the Paracin Minefield. Serbian NGOs and demining stakeholders will thereby showcase their EOD approaches and equipment in scenarios including K9, border security, manual and mechanical demining. It will be followed by a networking reception in the evening at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, the conference venue.
On September 23 and 24, delegates will receive first-hand information from regional Mine Action Center’s on specific demining challenges in the Balkans – followed by respective case-studies from conflict regions such as Libya and Lebanon. On the other hand, representatives from NATO, the European Union, NGOs and international Armed Forces will discuss cutting edge technological innovations, the current state of terrorist threats to public security in Europe, and respective capability building measures. Conference topics thereby include:
- Responding to EOD Requirements in Europe: Capability Building and Lessons Learned
- Asymmetric Threat Developments: Preparing the Force
- Recommendations for C-IED and EOD Capability Building and Knowledge Transfer
- Critical Infrastructure Protection and Urban Security
- Defeat the Device and Post-Incident Management
