Vietnam Scraps Plans for Its First Nuclear-Power Plants


Vietnam’s government has decided to scrap its long-delayed plan to build the country’s first nuclear-power plants because other energy sources have become cheaper and demand for power has slackened due to slowing economic growth.

The government this week will submit its proposal to cancel the project to the country’s lawmaking body, the National Assembly, which is expected to ratify it later this month, the official Vietnam News Agency reported. Continue Reading.
